NACE CIP Technicians for Pipeline Integrity Job

Primary Responsibilities
Provide “Bell Hole Tech” services to our pipeline integrity clients
Key technician to assess corrosion and CP characteristics as pipe is exposed for inspection
NACE CIP 1 or NACE CIP 2 technicians
Reporting to
Director of Operations
Specific responsibilities
Measurement of Wall Thickness and assess laminar flaws using an Ultrasonic Device 5%
Magnetic Particle inspection of exposed and prepared piping and welds 10%
Examination of Buried Piping When Exposed – 5%
Examination of coating once buried pipe is exposed – 5%
Apply or inspect the application of Coatings to Below Grade Piping - 5%
Install CP Leads on Pipe via Exothermic Welding or inspect this process – 2%
Inspect for Internal Corrosion Whenever Pipe is Removed – 2%
Measure and categorize General and Localized Corrosion and document the corrosion -15%
CP Test Point Survey – 2%
Soil Resistivity measurement – 1%
Measurement of Depth of Pitting with Pit Gauge – 10%
Pin Brazing to Install CP leads on Pipeline – or inspect the process – 2%
Locate Line/Install Temporary Marking of Buried Pipeline – 2%
Damage Prevention: Observation of Excavating and Backfilling – 10%
Permanent Field Repair By Grinding – 5%
Permanent Field Repair Using Composite Materials (Clockspring) or inspect the process – 4%
Provide detailed reports in the format provided – 5%
Provide assistance to Pipeline integrity NDE technicians at the site - 10%
Must work safely in all situations. Safely work outdoors often in inclement conditions.
Must adhere to SGS’s integrity program at all times.

NACE CIP 1 is mandatory.
NACE CIP 2 is preferred
Documented ASNT-TC-1A classroom training in UT & MT strongly desired
Ability to perform NDE at remote jobsites.
Clean Driving Record
Good safety record while working outdoors in inclement conditions
Able to pass a pre-employment DOT drug screen, and random testing thereafter.
Able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check.
Work is labor intensive. Work is all outdoors, year round
Computer literacy; and experience with Excel, Word, Outlook, Adobe preferable.
Previous Pipeline Rehab experience preferred.
CWI certification a plus
Advanced UT training and experience strongly desired
Must be able to travel to off site location for extended periods of time
